Strangers: Loretta - The Mother (Cont. of The Missing Father)

Jordan called me up today
Told me he had made up his mind to do it
This was his decision
He's a grown man now
And I am so proud of him
So I stand behind my boy 100% of the way
And always have
After his father left,
I had to do it on my own
Raised him by myself till he was 11
Then I met his step father.
He's a wonderful man
Raised Jordan like he was his own
Yes, I will admit it
I had an affair with that man
I thought he loved me
But all of a sudden he had changed
Once he found out that I was pregnant
Then when Jordan was 4,
He left
No goodbyes, no letter
Nothing
The man is selfish
And loooow-down
I wish I would have seen it the first time
But, that was my mistake
Not fair for him to take his anger out on his own son
I say,
You can treat me bad all you want,
But not my son
Not YOUR son.

Strangers: The Returnin Soldier

I suppose I'm happy
My friends and family
They had a welcome home party as soon as I got back
I didn't want to tell them
But I was in no mood to celebrate
The Army had me stationed in Afghanistan
I was there for a year
But it was my second tour
When you're over there
time stops
While I was over there this time
I missed my son's birth
I missed his first steps
His first word
The day he was born our convoy hit a road side bomb
Three of my guys died
One was my best friend over there
I remember someone's hand landing on the side of my face
I grabbed it thinking it was someone hitting me
But it wasn't attached to a body
The blast left me deaf in one ear
I got burn marks covering the right side of my body
A part of me feels like a failure
What was I there for?
I feel like I lost everything for this war
I come back
The question I hear the most
Its not to ask how I am
It's...Did you shoot anyone?

Strangers: The Defense Attorney

My client is guilty
Yeah I'm his defense attorney
But come on
That's what I do
Defend
I defend the scum of the earth
My clients
Murderers, rapists, thieves
85% of those who walk into my firm
Guilty
They lie
and I lie for them
That's why I go to church every Sunday
There's no court on Sundays
I gotta wash my hands of all those sins
The guy I'm about to defend
Accused of 1st degree manslaughter
He followed some old lady home
Forced his way into her house
And bludgeon the old woman to death
with a her own cane
That's nothing
Not compared to what I've had to defend
Do I think I can get him off?
I don't get paid six figures to lose
This case is in the bag
We got an alibi
And the witness is not fully credible
The cane
They found no prints
No fibers, DNA
Nada
How do I know he did it though?
I know
When you been a defense attorney for 24 years
You can see it in their eyes
Like the devil is looking back at you
Plus his story doesn't add up
And that's when I go in and make it add up
All these court proceedings
One big a** show
A circus
And I'm defending the clowns and freaks
Speaking of freaks
Here comes my client
It's gonna be a good show

Strangers: The Grieving Sister

I'm sorry
Please hold on a second
ANGIE! You see where my...
NEVER MIND!
Sorry. My head just isn't all there today
It hasn't been there at all for the past 3 weeks
*sniff*
My little sister got caught up in some mess
It wasn't her fault
She had nothing to do with what went down
Sorry, sorry...
*sigh*
I...
....
I don't get it...
It was a drive by shooting
Her and some other kids were hangin' out
at Allenmore Park
She was only 13
...
They can't find who did it
Nobody is coming forward with answers
This is my LITTLE SISTER!
These...
quote, unquote PEOPLE
Saw something
They know who did this
But...
...But...they just don't care
13!!!
The bullet caught her in the side of her head
The left side of her brain
She had been in ICU
*sigh
....
I couldn't even look at her
and Mama...
She....
Sorry...Hold on give me second

Mama...
That's her baby
That's OUR baby
We tried to keep her on life support
But all we was doing was keeping her heart beating
She was long gone...
She wasn't with us no more
At night...I heard Mama crying
Asking God 'WHY'
I'm not ready
I mean it wasn't easy seeing her layin' in the hospital
Now..
Now, I gotta see her in a CASKET!!
I can't take this...
But I...I gotta be the strong one
Daddy, dead...
Lord, what am I gonna do?
....
Excuse me.
It's time.

Strangers: The Missing Father

He called today.
D**N it! That no good woman, Loretta!
*sigh*
Yeah...Who would have thought?
Look, I knew this day would come.
MAN! Can't believe this bull....
Who? Who called?
Jordan...
My son.
I haven't seen him or nothing since he was 4.
Or his NO GOOD MAMA!!
Hell! I had to get outta there! The B*** was drivin' me nuts!
I'm HAAAARD working man. I gets mine. You know?
But to come home and hear her naggin' me from dust to...
Look...alright, I ain't no father.
He called.
Said he wanted to know who his father was.
Wanted to close the book or some foolishness like that...
I told him...'Straight up lil man'....
'I ain't no father...and you ain't my son'
'LORETTA! Yo mother! She should have had the God D**n sense
to tell you NOT to get in contact with me.
'
He must not be bright or somethin' cause he asked me why I left.
'Cause...'
'Cause, I was only with Loretta cause she tricked me into stayin' around.'
'She knew I wasn't ready for no baby.'

I'ma tell you this...
I had a family before all this mess.
I admit. I was seeing Loretta while I was still married.
...
2 kids with my wife. A boy and a girl.
My kids won't talk to me no more!
I lost EVERYTHING...over HER!!
'Look, lil' man'
'Don't be no fool like yo mama!'
'Don't call back no mo'

You know what he told me?
You know what that little punk told ME?
"I'm 24 years old. It's been 20 years since the last time I saw you. I'm a grown man. I got a bachelor's degree in Engineering. I'm getting married to a beautiful woman I met in college. She's a lawyer. So guess what? Mama didn't raise no fool....."
"....You're the fool."

And that was that....
PUNK LITTLE N***A!
